Course Overview
This unique 2 stage program culminates in successful participants being eligible to RPL for HLT51020 Diploma of Emergency Health Care.
This qualification is a nationally recognised, pre-hospital emergency health care qualification which qualifies you for a wide range of jobs in the private sector.
Stage One is our highly acclaimed Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Plus Program - 11208NAT Certificate IV in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Response (with additional elective units). This program is 17 days in duration including 2 lay days, additional units and approximately 350 hours of pre-course assessments and study.
Stage Two is our unique Advanced Care Practitioner Emergency Medical Technician Program - Diploma Gap This program is 6 days in duration with approximately 150 hours of pre-course assessments and study. Included in the program is your RPL application.
The Diploma is a much sought after qualification and First Response Australia now provides an efficient and cost effective pathway to achieving this.
To gain the Diploma qualifcation with First Response Australia candidates must attain the following:
The AEMT Plus qualification -11208NAT Certificate IV in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Response plus additional units.
Successfully complete the Diploma Gap Program (Advanced Care Practitioner)
Complete clinical placements totalling 160 documented hours.
Duration: 6 Days (7:30am - 5:00pm), plus pre-course (approx. 150 hours)
Mode of Delivery: Face to Face
Reasonable Adjustment: FRA supports learners with recognised disabilities and makes adjustments, where possible, according to each individuals need. The level of adjustment required is determined on a case by case basis between FRA and the learner with a disability. FRA ensures any reasonable adjustment does not compromise the integrity of the competency standards.
Assessment Will Include: Written/Oral Questions, Practical Assessments & Scenario Based Assessments.

Requirements
Entry Requirements: Successful completion of the AEMT+ program. Computer/Tablet with Microsoft Word and access to the internet.
Pre-Course Study: Approx. 150 hours of mandatory pre-course assessments (enrolments must be secured a minimun of 2 months prior to residential).
Residential: 6 days on-course assignments/assessments
USI: A USI (Unique Student Identifier) number is required for all accredited training in Australia. If you do not provide a USI number we may not be able to issue a Certificate/Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of training.

Physical Requirements: A level of fitness and stamina is required to complete the CPR practical assessment by spending extended periods of time on your knees at floor level.
Dress Code: Please wear closed in shoes and comfortable clothing to enable you to kneel down on the floor for extended periods of time.
